Thanks to my Yelp friend Sara I. helping me to host the Foodie Adventure on Sunday, November 12, 2023. It happened to be on Diwali. So, we chose to be in the Diwali theme. [ Event Page ] We dined at Kathmandu Curry during Diwali UYE I have been rebranding Chinatown Crawl Meetup events to Foodie Adventures because the events are outside of Houston Chinatown. There is no exception to this one. But the meetup style remained in progressive dinner as Chinatown Crawl, we dine, shop and dessert in 3 hours.  Customized Name Tags for Diwali UYE  We featured Kathmandu Curry as our dining restaurant. The timing was right on point. There were not many people during lunch on that Diwali Sunday. We believe the customers were still at the temples. Service was just okay. Do you have people in your office doesn't celebrate holiday the way you do? How about celebrate Festivus this year? It's not just from TV Sitcom Seinfeld , it's real life to celebrate in style. I would never imagine such beautiful and meaningful Easter celebration in Houston. This is a unique service called "Salubong" on Easter Sunday at  Notre Dame Catholic Church . Powerful presentation by the Filipino Catholic Community Salubong means "meeting" in Tagalog. It was a traditional Filipino devotion to reenact the Risen Christ's meeting with His mother. This was my first time attending an early morning service. I arrived a little after at 4 am as the parking lots were already full. I was directed by the attendant to a parking spot. I saw candle holding parishioners, mostly women, queued up behind a Virgin Mary's statue surrounded by priests and alter staff. They sang like chants. There was another group in the rear parking lot holding a Jesus statue in the same formation, except they were all men.
